Nostalgia

Published by bgfeener under success

If anyone wants to buy me a pair of these sneakers, feel free.

However, keep in mind that nostalgia is a dangerous thing. It causes us to make emotional decisions rather than logical. It prevents us from firing our long-term employee even though she is no longer pulling good sales numbers. It causes us to resist moving forward. It makes the 80’s seem like a time of perfection while today seem bland in comparison. It makes me want a clearly inferior and clunky sneaker.

So let’s not look back, but rather forward. Take the lessons of yesterday and move to tomorrow. Personally, I’m going to party like it’s 2019.

Snuka and Piper: Nostalgia

Published by bgfeener under marketing

Throwback jerseys, re-released Jordans, Rambo, Rocky XI, I Love the 70s/80s/90s….

The trend of nostalgia isn’t going anywhere.  In the 1900s, there were only a few permanent records of things people did, said, wore, sung… etc.

Now?  Everything is digital and can be copied a million times over.

If someone in 2080 wants to do a “throwback” to 100 years previous, they will know exactly how it was made, what materials to use, what it looked like, what the audience was… etc.

Good? Bad?
